Preparing for a session with a coach can be a stressful and anxious experience particularly when you are first starting to meet with a coach. It's important to know that this is a normal and common experience. You may feel uncertain about what to expect or nervous about opening up to someone you don't know well.
However, it's important to remember that your coaching session is an opportunity for you to prioritize your well-being and work towards positive changes in your life.
To help make the process a little easier, we are sharing 6 steps you can take to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally. By following these steps, you can feel more at ease and confident as you approach your wellness session!
Before your session, take a few minutes to think about what you hope to gain from your time with the coach. Do you want to focus on any specific areas of your life or well-being? Write down a list of intentions that you can refer to during your session.
It is important to get a good night's sleep before your session. Make sure you are well-rested to be fully present during your session. To feel refreshed and rejuvenated, aim to get between 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night, although individual sleep needs can vary.
Being well-rested before a coaching session has many benefits. When you are well-rested, you are more alert and focused, which can help you better engage in the session. This will help you to better absorb and process the information you receive from your coach.
Take some time to reflect on your current state of well-being. Consider what is going well for you and what areas you may struggle with. Be honest with yourself and don't be afraid to share this information with your coach during your session.
Writing down your thoughts is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reflect on them. There are many tools available for recording your thoughts, such as your iPhone notes, journals, and other note-taking apps.
When you write down your thoughts, you give yourself the opportunity to review them later and track your progress. This can help you gain clarity and perspective on your thinking as well as relieve stress and anxiety.
If you have any questions or concerns about your well-being, write them down before your session. Writing down your questions before a coaching session can be incredibly beneficial to clarify your thoughts and ensure all your concerns and questions are addressed. During the session, feel free to ask any additional questions that come to mind.
*Note:* Don't hesitate to ask your questions! While asking your first question during a coaching session can be intimidating, it's important to remember that doing so can provide valuable insight and support. Asking questions is actually one of the best ways to establish a strong and productive coaching relationship that supports your personal and professional growth.
Make sure you are in a comfortable, quiet space during your session. Eliminate any distractions or interruptions, such as phone notifications or background noise. You want to create an environment that is conducive to reflection and growth.
To create a comfortable and distraction-free environment during your coaching session, find a quiet and private space, use headphones or earplugs to block out noise, turn off your phone, have a comfortable seat, and keep water nearby. These steps will help you stay focused and get the most out of your session!
During your session, be open and receptive to the guidance and support your coach provides. Remember that your coach is there to help you and has your best interests at heart. Have an open mind to consider trying new approaches, feedback, and constructive criticism.
Remember that your coach is there to help you grow and improve your overall well-being, and with your cooperation and openness, you can achieve great things. Take a deep breath, relax, and know that these steps will put you on the right path to a fulfilling and healthy life!
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
